La Punta was made in 2013 for the 70th Venice International Film Festival, as part of Future Reloaded, a series in which filmmakers from around the world offered their visions of cinema. Apichatpong pairs rain footage shot in Thailand with the sound of waves recorded on a beach in Lima, Peru. A short poem about the force of nature, it joins two distant places across the planet and invites viewers to reflect on their own relation to the movements of the natural world.
