The videos were made with a pocket camera, whose “eye” has a unique ability to see and interpret light and colour. This work introduces two eyes, a pair for seeing, for that small apparatus. Apichatpong considers it a natural extension of his interaction with a multitude of occurrences and information.

These irises communicate with one another and with other shadows, orbs and cycles. They revolve around home, its memories and secrets. The artist uses them to shield himself when staring at the sun. They both block and observe, manifesting a desire to experience the world beyond sight. “They have created the planets of perpetual inquiry.”

Seeing Circles is linked to the installation For Bruce.
